FAQ
Do I need an estate plan if I already have a will?Yes. A will only addresses administration at your death. Your family has no ability to manage affairs during your lifetime with a will alone.
I need nursing home care, but can’t afford it. Do I have to sell my house?Maybe. This is really a question about qualifying for long term care benefits under Medicaid. The answer depends on whether you’re married, the care needs of your spouse, and your (and if you’re married your spouse’s) income and assets.
What will happen to my minor children if I die?If parents of children who are under the age of 18 die, then the court will typically appoint the guardian nominated in the parents’ will. If there is no will, the court chooses a guardian that appears to be the best choice to raise the child.
"I retained Attorney Perry to provide assistance in settling a deceased clients estate, which proved to be quite complicated in nature and time consuming. Not only was Attorney Perry extremely well versed and knowledgeable I also found her to be very empathetic, patient and kind. She and her staff were very well organized and diligent in staying on top of pertinent deadlines and keeping me abreast of progress on my matter. Having had many interactions with other attorneys in the area, I found her fees to be very reasonable and fair. She is a breath of fresh air and a tremendous asset to her profession."

Ms. Perry was engaged to assist me with estate and trust planning. She was extremely helpful in explaining my options vis-a-vie wills or trusts. I opted for a trust and received excellent documents and answers to all my questions. It was clesr that she had listened to me about my needs and concerns throughout our consultation. I look forward to working with Ms. Perry in the future.

"I first met Atty Perry when I needed help with my mother estate. She was very understanding of my situation and patiently guided me through the procedure of settling the estate. She was also able to refer me to others to assist with selling property that was part of the estate. Most recently Atty Perry prepared my will."

“A true professional in all aspects. Geneva immediately understood our needs. Better yet, she pointed out areas we were not familiar with yet and that could affect our estates. She is phenomenal, very well versed, and certainly in touch with issues in the LGBT community. Her assistant, Tammy, is also one great professional and wonderful to work with always.”
